In a tight economy with competitive values, learning how to capitalize on your strengths and magnify your present skills are essential. Invest in yourself! Strengthen your resolve!
Job counseling involves exploring your needs, redefining what you have done in the past, and identifying new, vitalizing careers. A career is like a marriage. Ideally, it could be something you want to commit to, as a creative means both to give back to society and to foster your own development.
As each working person is unique, each of my therapy sessions is tailored to fit my client's precise needs. Some of our vocational work together may include:
1) Coaching to help you identify what attracts and repels you about work and the job search itself;
2) Addressing obstacles that interfere with your obtaining meaningful work (for example, lack of confidence or fear of rejection; past issues you have had with your boss or in disharmonious work environments; concerns about money or aging);
3) Affording you opportunities to practice speaking in public, whether through role plays or elevator pitches, interviewing, and formal presentations;
4) Helping you to construct, to bolster, or to re-language your resume and cover letters as a means to magnetize potential employers' curiosity;
5) Exploring how you can grow your networking base, as well as how to make yourself both known and remembered by those you encounter;
6) Identifying resources that further your journey upward;
7) Fostering your learning coping skills to manage the ups and downs of a period of unemployment.
I would love to help you reach your career goals! Whether you are a young person with little job experience or over 50 years old and needing to find a new career, I provide you with the kind of help you need to be successful.
